Empowering Youth, Building Bridges: Celebrates 30 Years of U.S.–Vietnam Ties

July 11th, marks 30 years since the United States and Vietnam established diplomatic ties. Today, I visited the U.S. Department of State. I received a warm welcome from the Youth Programs Division and joined a meeting focused on the U.S.–Vietnam partnership, how both American and Vietnamese communities can strengthen people-to-people connections and support shared priorities.

“In just three decades, we’ve moved from healing the wounds of war to becoming trusted partners—collaborating on trade, education, health, energy, and security. Here’s to 30 years of progress, and to the next 30 years of peace, cooperation, and prosperity for both nations.”

The U.S. Department of State has been a long-standing partner of Let’s Do It Vietnam, Young Conservationists to Save the Wildlife (under 2021’s Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund) and our dedicated team members. Together, we’ve worked to promote youth engagement, environmental action, and cross-cultural collaboration—strengthening the ties between our two nations through meaningful initiatives and shared values.
